£195k for 68m² in 'Chips' - that's a pretty good deal right?

Plus if you're in it you can't see it which must be worth a few quid extra.

Beetroot juice is rather delicious but in coffee?

Oh, and Scott's been.
"culturally destabilised"

Psychobabble indeed!
Presumably this will be a VERY good location when HS2 is complete in 12 years time?
If HS2 were to come to pass, it would indeed. It is the area bounded by Great Ancoats Street and Pollard Street at the bottom of this plan (warning, pdf) (unaccountably shown with SSW at the top) (this peeves me)
The bit of Ancoats closest to the centre (definite Shoreditch/Hackney Wick vibe) has been branded as Northern Quarter for a little while, which always grates on me but does seem to have become common terminology amongst locals and visitors alike.

Did you visit the area around Sport City/Etihad Campus?

dg writes: Yup.

That's the other big regeneration area on east of the city, which was done up after 2002 Commonwealth Games, so some parallels with Olympic Park in London (but slightly smaller scale). Nice sports facilities at Sports City but always felt bit disconnected from the surrounding areas which remain pretty deprived to this day.
Should have walked up to Ancoats. Same level of redevelopment but Cotton Square has fantastic eateries.
Ah I see that you did indeed to to Ancoats. Redevelopment at its best,
Argh! I lived here for 7 years in various apartments and would have loved to point at things with you. Now I'm out in the 'burbs which is surely an excuse for you to get the tram and blog about that one day :)
