I am disappointed - you could have had a Wimpy ...

Ahh, the last time I was in Southall my culinary dabbling wasn't terribly inspired either: http://www.flickr.com/photos

I do like the Broadway. Can't claim to feel out of place there, either. If anything I feel more at ease there than in a lot of places in London.

If you go on a warm day there seem to be a lot of ice cream sellers - quite cheap, to boot.

From Otford to Southall

Does that oyster card know no bounds ?

Was that Oyster card even working?

Ahh, happy memories of childhood in Southall! Was far more lively when I was younger!...

I remember the Palace Cinema Southall, from when it was a Gaumont then renamed Odeon cinema.
I went inside when it was the Liberty Cinema showing Indian films before it became a market. After it closed as a market there was a bad fire and the building stood without a roof for some time.. It is amazing that it was restored.
I went to visit the place shortly after it re-opened and met the owner. He made his money selling carpets in Southall where he owns a store called Himalaya Carpets, hence the cinema name Himalaya Palace.
For history of this cinema a good site is here.
