"Local campaigner May Dupname" - Classic!
If only my local 'newspaper' had at least one journalist with the quality and accuracy of DG... Classic :)

"No more than one cyclist was inconvenienced by the convenience." I choked on my toast but this is clearly the future for local journalism.
Bow Central Mosque. Would this have once been a post office? I can see behind it what appears to be a telephone exchange, these buildings were usually located together.

dg writes: The link in the post confirms it used to be a pub.
The Bombay Grab, was the pubs name and the building behind it is a block of flats.

All Bows telehone numbers come off the Mile End exchange at Eric Street.
It's not authentic without several mentions of 'adorable', 'heartwarming', 'shocking', 'stunning', 'carnage' and 'chaos'...
Some more local Bow news (although not Bow Road itself) came out today - Bow is one of the nieghbourhoods to get 'Liveable Neighbourhoods' funding from TfL and the boroughs with various improvements to make walking, cycling and bussing easier (and driving a bit harder)

The real photographs are nice old fashioned touch giving that authentic 'on the ground' reportage vibe. However in the interests of efficiency we've decided to relocate all local news gathering to Bombay. Our highly skilled operatives there will be trawling the Twitter feeds and screenshotting the Google streetviews thankyou please. Be assured of our best intentions and bringing you the local news you love.
Breaking news...

Reports have been coming in of a man in his late 40s acting in a strange manner over a number of days last week in the vicinity of a Bus Stop undergoing improvement works on the Bow Roads.

The authorities have confirmed that no persons are unaccounted for in any of their institutions, and whilst photos were apparently taken each day, patience and great care was witnessed not to photograph any people within them.

A spokesman from the "Ladies who Bus" said that he has nothing to do with them, however, a man fitting his description has been invited around for tea and scones on a few occasions - we're still waiting tell him.

Please dial "M" with any further information you have.

We now return you to further comments.
The legible London way finding sign on the corner of Roman Road and Grove Road was also repaired in the last week. It only took eight months. I wonder if the damaged sign on the end of Roman Road market has also been repaired? Last year I had to stop myself from tweeting pics of the damaged signs to TfL when it proudly announced it had sold similar signs to Hong Kong.
"Reports have been coming in of a man in his late 40s acting in a strange manner ..."
That would not be DG, then.
Unless the reports are inaccurate.
I think the map panels of the Legible London signs are glass with the map printed on a sticker on the inside, to allow for easier updating. The direction panels at the top and bottom are enamel, as they don't tend to need changed as frequently.
