Copper reinforcements? I hope not. Copper-reinforced just doesn't have the necessary strength that steel reinforcement has and is very expensive. Copper-coloured reinforcements or more accurately rust-covered reinforcements maybe.
It is one of these quirks of nature that steel reinforcement must be left to rust first to maintain its strength. I have always assumed this is to provide a protective layer to prevent the setting concrete attacking it. |
