I, personally, am relieved.

You could always do Zimbabwe and arguably complete the A-Z. At the very least, the embassy is on the grander side.

Whereas I am disappointed that at least you don't consider a regular series, not necessarily in alphabetical order, but showing how diverse and exciting London is. I think one a week, looking at (say) Italy, Angola and Hungary would be very interesting, and some would be limited affairs whereas others would need to abandoned unfinished because they are potentially so vast. Try a few more!!

How about doing one for each letter of the alphabet? 'A' has already been ticked off, so you could take your pick from a variety of 'B's. Admittedly some letters are more restrictive than others ('O' for example), but the bulk offer some choice.

In terms of maintaining your sanity probably a very good decision. Although I think the concept as it stands is good perhaps doing it alphabetically and having all the small states was too ambitious. I am sure you will find a way to re-cycle this eventually into something that meets your standards ( and does not bore you)

I’m fascinated by the ethnic make up and diversity of London but am pleased you won’t be doing all the countries. London doesn’t have the same mono-ethnic neighbourhoods that is common across the rest of the world. Still I do think there is merit in doing some more of this series as I am interested to read more about the diversity of London.

Yesterday, in a parallel universe, Diamond Geezer blogged his journey on the No1 bus announcing he was going to ride every London bus route in numerical order. One a week.....

I was saving this for next Wednesday...
Back in my student days there was always the Albanian shop in Covent Garden. Famous for selling Albanian toothpaste. I never risked that but John Peel mentioned the place. |

Phew!

During Covid times when we couldn't travel I attempted to visit and photograph every country's embassy/high commission, in a project I started to refer to as HIGH COMMISSION: IMPOSSIBLE.
I got quite far through the list (there are a lot in a very small area) but there are still a few of the more outlying ones that I never made it to. |
|
Maybe. But it was the germ of a good idea. Maybe, as someone suggested, one for each letter of the alphabet; one with some 'meat'.
More interesting than another new/ending/revamped bus route ride-a-logue, IMO. |
|
Yes it’s been a while. I might do another new/ending/revamped bus route next Wednesday instead.

Fair enough. As they say, you can have too much of a good thing, and variety is the spice of life!

Does anyone know why Cambodia's embassy is in Willesden? Or the North Koreans are in Ealing?
dg writes: click on the photo Maybe we should suggest to the diplomatic community that they should spread out into the other boroughs. That they're in London at all is just because they needed to be near the monarch. |

it wouldn't be interesting, it'd be forced.
That's never stopped you before. |
