According to TfL status alert it is 0500 on Weds 15 January. Fat chance.
It would be good if they’d plant a few trees in the paved expanse of the Bow roundabout. They did this when they built the corresponding junction in West London, where the North Circular and Chiswick flyover meet, and the trees are now mature and we have a small circular wood we can walk or cycle through - as well as drive round. I assume they also absorb a lot of traffic fumes.
Next time I'm asked what my role is I think I'll answer: liminal faffer
The Bow roundabout is directly above an underpass and the River Lea, so planting trees in the centre isn't really an option.
It did get two nice planters full of geraniums in 2012 though.
The unlikely precision of the end date and time on the bus stop notice is likely because the system used to prepare ‘Notices of Event’ (NOEs) insists (or used to?) on an end date and time and does not allow for the approximation which is preferable in this type of scenario. Anything produced downstream of that tends to parrot that end date and time rather than utilise pragmatic approximation.
Stephen, The publicity is generated by the Area Manager, who should also be attending planning/progress meetings. When that was my patch I would have picked up the new expiry date in December and had the publicity updated. However as I wrote last year the 15 Jan completion date was highly unrealistic when you factor in christmas break and poor weather. Unfortunately Bus Ops are not the only department that has got it totally wrong.
Wasn’t today the date route 8 buses were reinstated to Bow Church?
