The Canal Museum has been on my 'must visit' list for years; now I really must! Thanks DG for reminding me.
Funny that - it must have been the sunny weather. I was oddly bored when I visited it - on a cold dark day.
Added to my list - thanks!
This is one more place that I will have to visit.
I did a stint steering Tarporley on the Hallowe'en tunnel trips one year. A dozen kids a time, high on sugar and screaming non-stop - never again!

A non-Hallowe'en trip is highly recommended though.

And the bookshop at the Museum is indeed excellent.
also added to my list! love it. love canal boats too.

their website looks like it was written in Microsoft Frontpage back in 1998 though, and not been updated since! eeek...
It's been tested in Chrome though! *snigger*
We had our wedding reception here two years ago. It was brilliant: a terrific place with kind and patient folk running it. Great value for two floors in central London with lovely space on to the canal out the back.
And because we were so well-behaved, they let us keep the life-size model horse on display (he usually gets hidden from people who may take drink.)
I walked past a sign to the Canal Museum last Wednesday on my way to Kings Place to see/hear Philip Pullman. I thought - I must go there sometime...
Oops a day late in commenting! One of my favourite little museums. Only discovered as a result of a mention in your A to Z of London Museums that linked back to a 2005 post. Here hang on a minute I thought I had Deja vu you've done that 8 1/2 mile walk before. You're cheating DG! you're recycling old stories!
