It’s (almost) all coming together now.

What are the reasons Bond Street is so far behind?

dg writes: multiple.
Interesting update, as always. Will the transfer experience at Moorgate be nicer than at Barbican?

dg writes: much.
2 months?! I thought the last test was last weekend
To blame the delays 9n Siemens is incorrect. All parties, Crossrail and all its suppliers are responsible.
Is there also an entrance at Moorgate, or is that not recognised as an official interchange?

dg writes: see above.
An interesting point in that Bond Street article: Crossrail took over running of the Bond Street construction and, in the process, managed to reduce an overrun from 18 months down to just 3.

Something to be said for not contracting out every last bit of work and maybe trusting your own/local staff.
Its Amazing to think thatTottenham Court Road was sufficiently finished for visits by TfL staff almost 4 years ago!

Theres a high chance the interchange between Elizabeth line and crossrail at Barbican on the tube map will have the shortest link of any of the interchanges between Circle and Elizabeth line.
It's so great to see that side of Paddington open again; it's a so much more fitting entrance to the station.
Dang! I was hoping that "Crossrail" sign might stay quietly unnoticed like the occasional "British Rail" ones still around in obscure passageways, but I fear it's now living on borrowed time.
"Haha haha ha ..." I have been trying unsuccessfully to link the rhythm of this commentary to a piece of music. Has anyone worked this out? or is it a wheeze to engage the sub-conscious of your readers?
Overrun down from 18 months to 3. That's if you believe that particular press release. But it's just replacing one made-up figure by another. The only thing we will really accept now is physical evidence on site. That's where these real life photos score over any amount of speculation or puffery. Thanks for the reality update.
Have to say that I did burst out laughing when I read your Bond Street 'description'.

Chapeau, DG.
The lift (G)!from westbound platform goes down to interchange level. There are no other public access means from westbound platform to Crossrail. From interchange level there are escalators or inclined lift to the Long Lane entrance or down to the Crossrail platforms.

Also, Liverpool Street Crossrail is managed as part of Moorgate station.

dg writes: Updated, thanks.
Thanks for the real laugh out loud moment with Bond Street station!
So should I plan a visit around June 3rd? Damn, Eurostar Brussels - London starts with 70 €, Ryanair Cologne - Stansted with 10 € :(
The "no" at the end of the long line of laughs is the Chef's Kiss on this post. Cheers.
Apologies, this isn't the first time I've published a Crossrail post titled Two Months To Go, but I hope it's the last.
The up-and-over interchange at Farringdon from southbound TL / westbound Circle to the Elizabeth Line seems particularly cumbersome for such an important interchange, given that the new Elizabeth Line platforms pass more-or-less underneath. Is there something else in the way which prevents the installation of another bank of escalators directly down from the southbound TL platform?

From eastbound Circle to Elizabeth Line it may be quicker to do an OSI across Cowcross Street from the old Metropolitan Railway building to the TL/EL building.
Jonalot - I think the chorus of the old comedy song The Laughing Policeman would probably work! (showing my age here!)
Retired from the City - I wonder whether the lift route might be easier!
From papers for next week's Tfl Board meeting:

We are continuing to improve the line’s reliability to a level that is acceptable for its opening. Work is under way to fix the remaining bugs discovered with the signalling system and work has been completed to remove the last restriction on the railway’s infrastructure.

Additional software upgrades for the tunnel vent system will coincide with commissioning of the updated operating system known as ELR200 around Easter 2022 which is expected to further enhance reliability.

Retired from the city - there isn't any physical constraint, but it may be deliberate, as I would guess s/b Thameslink to E/B crossrail would be the most popular. In order to avoid overcrowding at the top of the escalators, making people go up and over will thin out the crowd a bit. Also it would have cost money

From the Eastbound Circle it's probably better to change at Liverpool Street
Good stuff. The other Crossrail Farringdon exit, on the East side of Smithfield Market, is going to be great for getting quickly on foot to the Barbican, or down to the Thames at St Paul's for the Millennium Bridge. And Liverpool Street is also a Moorgate stop by virtue of the new Western exit there. I'm really looking forward to exploring all the nooks and crannies
