After all that I was curious to see what happened with passover and the hebrew calendar. Turns out that the calculations seem even more obscure with leap months, extra days, less days, you name it, but for all that it seems that passover this year is 20th April Fascinating, eh?

I just had to look at the Islamic Calendar, too which appears to adopt the buggerit approach to keeping in track with the seasons.

Would it be cruel of me to ask if you're pining for Creme Eggs?

I see BBC Breakfast ripped you off again this morning

Thanks, DG, most interesting.

And then there is the Eastern Orthodox Easter...which CAN be (and just occasionally is) the same date as Western Easter.... but IIRC this year isn't until 27th April...meaning that, as far as they are concerned, Lent has barely started....

My. Brain. Hurts.

Come back on Monday, Tom

Well, I'm still trying to work out WHY I even wanted to know, but as ever, the depth of your knowledge is so fascinating that I couldn't help reading all the way through. You asked if anyone was still reading at the end, so I just thought I'd assure you that someone was.

I read through to the end too. Cos I was interested, even if too much arithmetic gives me brain ache!

Thnx, DG

Wow, interesting! So the early Easter this year is all down to a quirky bit of maths.

Didn't know you were of the mathematical type, DG.

Christ you're a boring c**t.

I must say, the level of religious debate has gone downhill recently.

Following your links I now know I have only 10 years to wait before I can eat Easter eggs on my birthday. I can hardly contain my excitement! Thanks DG!
