The best thing for me about Horseguards Parade is that it’s 2 minutes away from the pelicans in St James’s Park (fed fresh fish between 2:30 - 3pm every day, next to Duck Island Cottage).

Another 2 minutes walk round the south side of the lake towards Queen Anne’s Gate &, if you’ve remembered to take an apple, parakeets will come & eat it out of your hand.

The herons are less shy than in Regents Park, the Egyptian Geese more aggressive, & the whole park teems with wildlife.
