I've now been doing these summaries for six months.

...so I've put them all together on a single page for easy scrolling, in case anyone's ever interested.
'mass testing daily by the spring' - moonshot or lunacy?

France recorded a record number of C-19 positives - will the Tour de France reach Paris?

Apparently the flu virus season in the southern hemisphere didn't really happen this winter - so one positive of all the C-19 restrictions, and might be replicated in the northern hemisphere this winter, although I expect when flu returns it'll make up for lost time.
Possible second wave of ... cases. Not deaths. Worth pointing out.
Given that deaths follow infection by a few weeks, not really worth pointing out.
Gosh, is it six months? Thanks, DG.

COVID cases have been increasing gradually since July but sharply recently. COVID deaths have not increased as much, yet, although the statistics have been adjusted so many times it is a bit difficult to know what is what. (Weekly deaths remains around the five year average, but it seems around 1000 per week are dying at home rather than in hospital.)

This is not over by a long distance. Many universities are going back in the next week or two.
I didn't realise that the magic number for a local lockdown to be triggered is 40 cases per 100,000 people.
I just read that my borough has jumped from 8 to 32 in the past week so getting dangerously close to a mini lockdown.
Though how that will work when in close proximity to 5 neighbouring boroughs I'm not sure! Border checkpoints?
Thanks for the link above to all the posts.

I probably can't see for looking, but could you put a link to it in your sidebar please?
Hospital admissions to September 9th just been issued, yes an increase but very small. At the same time the labs are having issues keeping up so I treat all the numbers with suspicion.
new daily cases...
