Cheers for these ward investigations, DG. Certainly an encouragement to go and explore when COVID-19 has died down a bit more.
Fascinating, I'll bring your "tourist guise" along next time I'm in the area!
What a lovely hideaway garden by Salters' Hall I'll try to remember it the next time I'm in the area.
A smell never to forget...the streets of the City of London after the Lord Mayor’s show each November before the cleaning battalion quickly clears up behind all the horses.

The Guildhall Yard and the surrounding streets, mostly in the Ward of Bassishaw, are particularly pungent because this is where the parade assembles and ends. There is no escaping the inevitable.
These posts about the various wards of London are just fantastic. I will make use of the information the next trip to London.
I spent two years working in the Guildhall and it never crossed my mind that the building and the yard are in separate wards. Every day is a school day. Cheers DG.
Bassishaw highwalk is expected to close for something like 3 years as the 90s office block south of London Wall is knocked down and rebuilt. Granite benches etc all scheduled to go, with a very different layout at street level.
It looks as though they are knocking down a 1980's building and replacing it with a 1960's one. Perhaps this is because they have already knocked down a few 60's ones and want to bring back a heritage vibe.
