Thank god...!

Thank god, that mainly it will now mean i never hear the endless prattle of pointless station announcements in the evening telling me that there is a Good Service on all lines except for the W&C which is closed.

because - you know - literally thousands of people used to turn up expecting to catch it until TfL starting making these announcements.

On a serious note, I guess this means that running it through the Olympics last year generated enough passenger traffic for them to consider opening it all the time? Oh hang on, that sounds a bit like the cable car though, doesn't it ...
Perhaps they'll be trying it out with an initial run at 00:30 on Sunday 2 June :-)
I'm just amazed they got this through without the RMT threatening to strike over it. Wonder if they'll ever broach Sunday opening. Although that would stop all that lucrative filming!
Both links go to the December 2012 map.

According to those in thge know on District Dave http://districtdave.proboards.com/thread/22016/longer-operating-hours#
the extended hours have been deferred to September, although it will operate over three weekends in the summer to cover for closures on the Northern.

geofftech - " literally thousands of people used to turn up expecting to catch it"
well, some do, anyway: got an earful from the best-beloved after my directions from Moorgate to Waterloo failed her - I had not expected her to be travelling that late - and she wandered round the labyrinth that is Bank station late at night at a loss what to do next. I think she eventually went via Emankment!
In my early years in London, I was once 40 minutes late for a job interview having got completely lost thanks to the labyrinth of Bank Station.

Didn't know London very well at the time. Certainly didn't know Bank station very well.
Yeah, at Bank, heading for the W&C...travellator on the right, or long, sloping, under-populated passageway on the left?

I just make a snap decision each time.
Closing Edgware Road (Bakerloo) station for a while - I wish they'd take the opportunity to rename it, to avoid confusion with the other Edgware Road tube station!
Excellent news. I've found the lack of W&C on Saturday evening a pain when travelling between Liverpool Street and Waterloo. When the W&C is running it's one stop to Bank, then the one stop from Bank to Waterloo. When it's not, it's a much slower journey with more changes. (Yes I'm aware if the train stops at Stratford Waterloo to Stratford is a better alternative, but not all trains from Liverpool Street strop at Stratford).
This morning, I can assure you, both links went to the May 2013 map.
Ah yes, the labyrinthine Hell that is the Bank/ Monument complex - surely the grimmest place underground on the tube network. The ascent from the DLR platforms must be the longest journey from platform to surface anywhere.

And how busy is Edgware Road Bakerloo. Would many people really notice if it didn't re-open after Christmas.
Apparently they were planning to introduce a regular Sunday service on the Waterloo and City. Bit puzzled not to see it in this tube map. Even if it has been deferred to September, one would think the same applied to the announcement which did appear.
May 2013 map for me too DG!
May 2013 for me as well - there may be some cache issues
Hmmm...

"On Sunday all lines close between midnight and 1am, except one."

This isn't the W&C, it's the metropolitan. The W&C doesn't shut down on Sundays because it hasn't opened in the first place. The last train on the Metropolitan arrives at Uxbridge at 0100, which isn't in between 0000 and 0100.
Now showing May 2013 for me (anon 1022) too. Glad my internet is now synchronied with everyone else!
the man-who-updates-the-PDF at TfL has been changing the tube map almost every day for the last week. there are two sizes (big and small) and they keep getting swapped around, along with a version where Page 1 is the map, and Page 2 is the back index, and then a version that is versa to that.

you're all wusses if you think Bank is complicated. tweet me @geofftech if you want a map of it.

and you're wusses because i think Embankment is much more complicated...
Re the new map.
I thought Pudding Mill Lane station on the DLR was closed.
@ Ray

It reopened eight months ago, what with the Olympics being over an' all.

Any idea when they change the maps in the stations? I really want one with the 150 on it - I asked ages ago but my local station manager didn't know though I might say to him to hold me one if I can find out roughly when they're going to swap them over - any idea? Or what company does this so I can contact them for one??

Cheers
"From 2 June operating hours from Mondays to Saturdays will be extended to 0030."
Except that 2 June is a Sunday.

Adding to the potential confusion, could someone roll up at 0015 on the morning of Sunday June 2nd (i.e Saturday night) expecting a train?
Looking at comments on another forum (District Dave) looks like the later finishing may have to be put back till September.
