I am genuinely surprised at the Crossrail closure. I had expected the whole line through central London to be closed. In the past it has been at Easter for testing some aspect of the system such as a software upgrade. I believe this will be the first time ever that it will be open over Easter.
Not calling at Acton Main Line, Hanwell and West Ealing is relatively trivial and happens often. These stations only have platforms on the 'relief' (slow) lines so when the relief lines are closed for engineering work trains not calling there is inevitable. |

The change to the 205 is really poor, and I shall be telling TfL that. It's handy having an alternative to the circle line from Paddington to Kings Cross, wasn't that the reason it was invented in the first place?
So TFL will definitely have managed to rename the overground lines by next Easter then?
The weight of the Overground roundels denoting an interchange between the (tram)lines look weird. Actually the whole interchange design looks weird. Perhaps in a few years when everything is bedded in TfL will revert to solid colour blocks.

I can imagine consultees opting for an increase in taxi fares. Taxi drivers whose operating costs and cost of living have increased as much as anyone else’s may well be in favour of an increase.
I’m not a frequent user of the 205 but every time I’ve used it recently has been from Paddington or Marylebone to beyond where the 27 turns north so am not in favour of it’s diversion away from Paddington. I’ll make sure to complete both consultations. |

The SL9 tiles at South Harrow Station (and possibly elsewhere) are incorrectly placed too.
Depending on one side of the road it's either in 2nd or 3rd place, squished between the 140 and 395 bus and before the 398, 487, H9/10, H12 & N140! |

Re. The line diagram interchange boxes, why is it Windrush *line* etc, but just plain “Piccadilly”?
Kim - I blame the Elizabeth line for setting that precedent.

Has Elizabeth Line reverted to Crossrail?
Kim - I think it's because the brand guidelines are different for rail and Underground. Overground and Elizabeth line are conventional rail so get line after them, and Underground aren't so don't.
Similarly station names above the entrance are in capitals for Underground and title case for rail. And include the word 'station' for Underground but don't for rail (except at Battersea Power Station, because...) |

"the workshy sods in the poster production department have created a generic poster they can slap up anywhere"
But maybe they can have it both ways. A more competent person in each station could print the correct, unique, QR code on an A4 laser printer (presuming each TFL station has one) and slap it over the pointless generic QR code, thereby turning it into a useful poster. And the workshy person who created the generic poster can be made redundant, along with their immediate boss, because clearly there's no merit in TFL keeping such gross incompetents in its employment. |
harry. Someone would still have to create a unique code for each station (I'm not very techy so have no idea how hard/easy that is)
At most stations you'd be lucky to have a working inkjet printer. |

The 205 was introduced in 2002, replacing the northern half of the wheelchair-accessible Stationlink bus routes SL1/SL2 at a much improved frequency. Since then it has had its routeing tweaked (simplified!) in a couple of places, and been extended eastwards from Whitechapel to Mile End and Bow.
Has anything changed since 2002? More tube stations (including Paddington) now have step-free access, enabling journeys that would previously have relied on the 205. And the Elizabeth Line has opened. I expect that will have significantly altered people's travel patterns, either travelling directly into and across Central London without needing to change at Paddington, or finding journeys may be quicker or easier interchanging further in rather than at Paddington. |
The generic poster may be nothing to do with workshyness or incompetence, just budgets. Printing a few hundred identical posters is sure to cost less than bespoke ones.
Many things wrong with the 205 change but the biggest sign it just doesn't work is that there won't be a single bus line going straight down Marylebone/Euston Road (and City Road)... imagine the same on Whitechapel/Mile End/Bow Roads!
They argue that the number of passengers has dropped x percent since pre-pandemic times but they happen to have already cut the route's PVR by roughly that amount. So why further changes are needed is rather superfluous. |
Exterior station names on LU are in capitals purely through historical precedent. TfL claim lower case is more legible and so use it on more recent ‘modes’ - LO, DLR, XR, Trams. They will add ‘Underground’ if an entrance is near to a NR terminus.
