Great stuff - Bickley was my local station! Of note: you show three places very connected with the late David Bowie.

First, Bickley Station. After being born in Brixton in 1947, this was Bowie's local station. His family moved to 106 Canon Road, Bickley (1953) and then 23 Clarence Road, Bickley (1954-1955).

Second, whilst at Clarence Road his local park was Whitehall Recreation Ground, another place you show. In 1993, Bowie featured in a video for the BBC series ‘Buddha Of Suburbia’ which showed shots of places connected with him in Bromley, namely Whitehall Recreation Ground.

Third. part of the video showed Bowie in St Matthew’s Drive, a little cul-de-sac off St. Georges Road (which you also show here), and St. Georges Church at the top of main road near Bickley Station.

Why does absolutely none of this fascinating stuff come up when you Google Bickley? Thanks!
No problem. Thanks for all your interesting articles which cover many areas of London I know very well.

re "none of this fascinating stuff coming up". This is a big mystery! We could say the same about the local venue Chislehust Caves. I visited there again recently with a friend, who like me was very interested in the connections the caves had with many famous bands. There was nothing in the official literature sold in the shop. There was a picture of Led Zeppelin (who did a record launch there, but did not play), but no mention of Pink Floyd (twice), Jimi Hendrix (twice), the Yardbirds (once), the Animals (once) of course our local lad, David Bowie who four times between 1962 and 1966 (and possibly saw Hendrix there for the first time).

Not as fascinating as Bowie obviously, but my mum worked as a barmaid in the Chequers in the early 1970s and met my step-father there.
