"I'd seen a group of five Essex girls thwarted up the Romford end earlier" - oooh missus!
Wonder if they'll be staffing it until the last train!
Is there some reason why they couldn't put the ramp on the train rather than leave it on the platform, and make it available at all 3 stations? (Width of ramp cf width of doors? Fire hazard blocking exit routes within the train?)
Sadly, the customer service assistant on the Emerson Park trains sounds like an even less fulfilling job than the customer hosts on the Boris buses.

TfL seems to be good at creating worthy, but boring, jobs to fill boxes that they have made for themselves.
There will be a ramp on the train when the new units come along as it is required for evacuation purposes. At the moment there will be a ladder for the same purpose on the existing units but this is obviously not suitable for all.
Is there any reason why they can't run the trains more frequently? It's unsignalled single track with one train with a very short journey time. Surely they could increase it to every 15 minutes?
metrication,

It would be a bit of a challenge given that it takes 9 minutes to get from one end to the other.

Timetable here.
When you say 'chevrons', do you perhaps mean 'lozenges'? Chevrons are V-shaped.
Emerson Park is not only the seventh-least used station in London, but the only one of the bottom ten that is TfL-run, with less than half the footfall of the quietest Tube station, Roding Valley.
I think I've found your sponsor, DG...

I've spent the last two days walking the new London Overground lines (tomorrow should be the last) and there have been loads of LO staff in shiny new uniforms at all of the stations except Emerson Park.
The posters say every station will be manned from first to last train but I really can't imagine what the duties would be if this station was to be staffed. It could either be the worst station to work at or a really cushy number for someone.
DIdn't it use to run every 24 minutes in the morning "peak"?

As are the lines that make up the BR symbol.
I've seen reference to the Customer Assistant or whatever they're called for Emerson Park travelling on the train to/from Romford. This presumably means that they can (a) wield the ramp at EP, (b) provide a general staff presence at EP for 13 out of every 30 minutes and (c) use the loo, get a mug of tea etc at Romford. The ramp is probably better left at EP rather than on the train to avoid the complication of making sure the supplied train always arrives with it loaded, and I gather would be no use anyway at Upminster as anyone needing the ramp can't get to/from the platform.

After Emerson Park, I look forward to reports from Mortlake and Palmers Green.

Thank you, and goodnight.
Last time (!) I was at Emerson Park,it described itself on its large signboard,as "Emerson Park Halt"...but the last word seems to have been dropped...a shame,as it was certainly the last station so described in London,if not the whole country...
