I'll be interested in what you have to say about the east side of the A12... We considered moving to Wick Lane but it seemed so very isolated from everywhere, though I could have walked to work along the Greenway

Love those giant poppies!

Last time I was in your neck of the woods, it struck me that the place looked fit to burst. What with all those massive housing blocks, and every last space filled with multi-occupancy structures, I found it the most depressing experience I've had in a long time.

The new development called "Mojo" will not I am glad to say result in the demolition of the Grade Two listed "Pelican Cottage" which currently house's the Sales office for the new development taking place on the same site. Pelican Cottage will be refurbished and will become a five bedroom house available to rent as Social Housing via the partner Housing Association. Also in front of Pelican Cottage are the remains of a former Railway bridge that is due to be removed and the level of the road will be lowered. And finally for your information DG the brand new "Naz" supermarket on Fairfield road will not be around for very long as the site is about to be demolished and a new block of flats will be replacing it.

Fond memories of living in 'East Bow'/'West Stratford' i.e. Central House on the wrong side of the Bow Flyover. I saw those new buildings on Streetview - very odd to think just how much the area has changed since 2005 when I moved away.

Bow is much better than it used to be, particularly the Mile End bit. When I moved to London in 1992 it was, frankly, a toilet.

I have a funny feeling that dg you are not a fan of Mcdonald's. Do you prefer Burger King ?

Goodness, the changes here have happened exceptionally quickly, haven't they?

I moved off Old Ford Road five years ago this summer. I've been having a good look around the Neighbourhood on Streetview; people have been busy...
