Routes for Tower Hamlets heritage walks can still be found on the local library site.
Shame the council couldn't host the files themselves. |

Sorry, today's post was a bit of a cut and paste nightmare. Hopefully fixed.

Any interesting published walks in home counties that could link to your one stop beyond series?

So, officially, Bromley, Hillingdon, Southwark and Waltham Forest have have the best websites for walking then.
I suppose here in Croydon we ought to be grateful and pleasantly surprised they made it to one star. A shame really as in the long and distant past their website was quite good on that. A bit frustrating that in my opinion we have the best section of the Loop. Walking can be a cheap hobby. But, by the time you have bought good boots, wet weather gear, other paraphernalia and (if under 60 or not in London) paid for fares or petrol and parking, it can get expensive. Add hotels and flights to various parts of the world and walking can be very expensive indeed. |

On the Wandsworth site you get different results if you search walking rather than walks. The former takes you to a page of external links including trails through Wandsworth. It's odd that they're unwilling to include a link to Merton's Wandle Trail given that ends in the borough.

I seen a book yesterday called 'A Guide to Walking Outdoors '.
Made me wonder what information other than 'step outside and commence walking' it has to offer. |

To be kinder to Haringey, as one of their walk leaders, I'd like to mention that the walking groups info you see on the Ramblers website has I understand been put there by one of the Haringey officers. It's all a bit convoluted.

Bromley does indeed have many miles of great footpaths. This morning I walked along the interesting perimeter footpath on the east side of Biggin Hill Airport which made me wonder if this is the longest unbroken public right of way in London.

Re MilesT's question about walks from One Stop Beyond, Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council has published a book of 18 bus-based walking routes (with local history notes) all of which lead back to the station of that name. See here.
