But Waltham Forest will be getting a giant wind turbine and carpark. Better than all teh medals in the world. apparently

Of course this all depends which statistical average you use. The vast majority of boroughs get nothing therefore any that hosts a single medal must be "above average".

How can you have "point something of a medal"? I don't understand.

Amused - The point somethings come from events taking place across more than one borough. For example the marathon crosses five boroughs, so that's 0.2 gold medals per borough. See the paragraph about Westminster.

All those years driving a cab in London and i never noticed that beach !!

The canoe/kayak slalom will be in Waltham Cross, a few hundred yards outside of the M25 and the northern boundary of Enfield. If they were building Broxbourne's canoe/kayak slalom on the other side of the M25, Enfield could then say it is going to be an Olympic host borough. Instead, it seems that Enfield (and Waltham Forest) will just be an area of North London separating the canoeists from the majority of Olympians competing in Newham.

Oh I see -s orry for bing dim. I had visions of 0.333 of a gold medal being handed out to a disgruntled Olympian in Broxbourne.

another picky commenter writes: surely Brent will see both golds for football, as the finals will be at Wembley?

Wayne - I decided to base the map on where the events take place, not on where the finals will be. In the case of football and basketball, those locations differ.

Good job sodding Waltham Forest won't get any medals, they'd only melt em down and build flats or houses out of them.

No Cinema, No Dogs, No Olympic Medals, yup, my borough is a real champ for leisure.

Grrrr, bitter? Moi?

CF

Hahaha - DG, you should find out where your pedants live and do a nice borough-by-borough breakdown.
