"We noted daycare units for obsessive compulsion" - I think it should read "for people with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder"

Thanks
Fascinating, DG, thanks. And I had no idea that Bedlam was originally on the Liverpool Street Station tube site.
And thank you for writing this one normally.

The Sunfayre link is missing its href.
I used to work there in the 1980's and have very fond memories of that time and the hospital. The grounds made it a very pleasant place to work and walk with patients ( a long hike from the farthest ward to the gate if you were chasing a runaway though!) Your post brought back many happy memories - thanks DG
Ooh, will have to pencil that in for next year. Went to the Wandle Park Revival Festival yesterday and didn't even think to look elsewhere. I've often thought the grounds look (in satellite view) good for a wander. Good to hear they're opening a bigger museum too.
My dad also worked at the Bethlem in the 80' and I often use to visit him there. I remember it as a surprisingly pleasant place for a psychiatric hospital and it doesn't seem to have changed much in the 25 years since then; I'm amazed that none of the grounds have been sold off for housing.
Whiff - don't put ideas into their heads!

The relentless attrition of green space in cities doesn't help mental health at all:-

I trained and worked there in the early 70's (showing my age!) It was a really good place to work, although the wards felt slightly isolated, especially on nights!
