I went there when it first opened.
Although I have been back many times since I only made that one visit inside. More fun watching the street entertainers outside.
IMO the center of Paris is one of the most beautiful on earth.
I too love the Sacre Coeur, it’s that magical blend of fantasy and reality, like a real life Disneyland creation.
I never find Paris beautiful just full of mostly old buildings. I like the La Defence area. Wonder if dg gets there.
Looking forward to where else you are going in Paris, DG.

Some Paris galleries are like London ones where the permanent collection is free and special exhibitions are paid for. These are municipal museums such as the (other) modern art museum which is well worth visiting for the interesting building as well as the art.
Any photos of the very long standing bus routes (53, 65 & 81), due to be axed next weekend in the largest shake up of buses for decades? There's an impressive interactive page on the old/new system and changes (TfL note) here.
Didn't see any bus photos, but the Shunk-Kender retrospective in the Photography Gallery was very good.
The Pompidou Centre doubled as Holly Goodhead's office in Moonraker. Obviously this is the most important use it has ever had.
Blog post very much in character: informative, well researched/impeccable attention to detail, good photos, and a discussion of value for money.
There are striking similarities between the architecture of the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the business park at Chiswick Park in London. They were both designed by the architect Richard Rogers.
I found myself saying the final word - in French - not Engish. Tres appropriate!
