Canada truckers - remember that there had been no vaccine mandate during the worst of the Covid crisis, then the Canadian government suddenly announced in January THIS YEAR that vaccines would be mandatory - for people who sit in cabs by themselves.

In the US several Democratic states announced that they are either dropping or easing mask mandates, so its no longer just Republican states that have broken with CDC advice.

My unvacc mate (mid 40s, healthy) who went into hospital mid-Oct looks like he will live, but is only a month conscious, and a week out of intensive care. I'm not surprised waiting lists will take years to clear.

The virus coninues to pick off the unvaccinated, whether healthy or not, and still kills quite a number. Luckily the otherwise healthy usually survive, although sometimes only just. Maybe things are less gloomy with Omicron.

I can't believe there is talk of scrapping the self-isolation rules!
The virus hasn't gone away just because the PM wishes to boost his popularity rating!

And the never happened (despite campaigning reported in the British Medical Journal): vaccination offered to younger children (which would also help unblock some travel abroad where there are still inbound quarantine mandates).

During the worst of the covid crisis, there was no mandate, because Canada started vaccinating later than others;

Americans require the vaccine to cross the border anyway, thus rendering the protest rather moot.
