Do we really have to wait until 2009? :-( |
He is extra clever if he did O levels in Scotland where all the other children would have been sitting Scottish exams. |
Blair's long-drawn-out departure from the top job has been so stage-managed it gives me the creeps. This isn't how it's supposed to happen. Has the UK become a proto-dictatorship? |
Ah, Mr No Mandate Brown. picking new curtains for number 10 That's not all he picks. And eats. In Parliament no less. |
I hate to disappoint you, ganching, but Gordon really did take his O Levels in Scotland. His official "Number 10" biography says so. |
What's all this "no mandate" stuff? I know Tony liked to appear presidential but unless I've missed a pretty major constitutional change we currently elect a party to form a government not a prime minister. And anyway it's hardly unprecedented - Major waited pretty well until he was forced to call an election. |
Hilarious. Especially 1958. |
"missed a pretty major constitutional change" Yes, there have been a few. "Has the UK become a proto-dictatorship?" Not yet: it's still at the nanny state stage. Question: will Gordon charge Tony for a peerage, or will he be entitled to one free? Here's another one: When will England get a parliament? I mean, one just consisting of MPs from english constituencies? Whats this tick box re emails? When did that appear? Should I tick it?Might need to enter my real email address, oops I mean... | | V |
Rob - I explained it on my blog yesterday (about half way down). |
BW - I get where you're coming from now. Unfortunately I confused your comments with Cameron's pathetic call for a general election... |
2008: Alas the replacement Chancellor isn't terribly good, and blows Gordon's economic stability in an orgy of financial incompetence. And would you believe it.. |
