A journey from Haringael to Haringeels, Hargingrey and Haringrass. Thanks for the tour of contrasts.
My borough - all familiar to me. Very interesting.
Borough of my birth, where I lived and worked on and off until my early-20s. You've perfectly encapsulated its variety; we considered Finsbury Park to be nearly-city, the Lea Valley as nearly-countryside and Hampstead as lovely but unachievable. The "North Circ" is helish still, but was a thousand times worse before the arrival of the M25.
Thanks to Hampstead Heath the highest point in the borough of Haringey is at it's southwestern point at Highgate, rather than in the north of the borough, as with all the other north London boroughs I have so far encountered.
Over the years I have spent many happy hours watching GAA and Celtic matches in the Pins. A home from home for this London Irishman.
If I was at the Premier Inn I wouldn't bother crossing the North Circular for M&S Food I'd go to the Morrisons Daily next door or the Aldi just across Station Road.

The green on Bounds Green Road has an active friends group who organise monthly litter picks and other events throughout the year, has planted a couple of areas with rose bushes and has just been given a grant for a new children's playground.
Excellent descriptions!
Thanks - very informative even as a Haringey (and Harringay) resident.
Yesterday I saw the Haringey Council contingent of the Pride parade were wearing t-shirts with a "Haringay" logo on them, a pun that I feel would be lost on many people who wouldn't realise it wasn't a typo.
