What a delight! By far the best thing I’ve seen on the Internet all month. And aren’t they cute, bless ‘em.
In the map, I can see a very large hole between Bow (or even Barking) and the City. What a pity.
I saw one of these last week (opposite Drapers Fields) and assumed it was a local project for one school - delighted to see it covers the whole city!
Oh good Lord. Just checked the map for my nearest billboard and it's on my street corner. I must have walked past it a dozen times and not noticed. Will go out after breakfast to inspect.
Wonderful post - I had no idea about this - thank you
Feel good Friday.
Of an age where I had to convert this. First year juniors in old money.

Wow, what a great concept, especially for the subjects. Yes, teachers do look young these days, even secondary school heads of year.
TfL won't miss a commercial opportunity to make money from their estate. So did they charge to have the underground billboards displayed ?

That could have made this art project pretty expensive.
Oh what a lovely start to the day!

Thank you DG for bringing this to our attention.

Wouldn't it be great if the rest of the country could also do this...
Quite lovely. Had already spotted 1 or 2 sets of grinning faces and thought it a one-off advert for the exhibition, so will look out for more over the next few days.

I do hope they put the posters from local schools in as many of the local places as they could, so the children and their families have a better chance of seeing themselves.
“See them at the Tate, or meet them in your future.”

What a lovely line to finish on, thanks DG!
My daughter was featured in this - looking forward to seeing the class in all its glory - not managed to find out whereabouts their class photo is yet though. Her school class is nicely mixed on both ethnicity and social class, reflecting the local area. The other neighbouring schools are pretty homogenous though which appears to be commonplace for primary schools.
A brilliant project in a brilliant space. I can imagine this being a formative experience for many. Who knows how many seeds planted by this will blossom in the future...
Do they really have PRUs for Y3 pupils in London?

Great project though. Perhaps a bit like being selected for 7-up.
I stood adjacent to the poster at Mortlake station last Saturday evening whilst waiting for a train to Waterloo. I wondered what it was all about - and now I know! Thanks DG for satisfying my curiosity.
As I understand it, every Local Education Authority has a legal obligation to provide education for children who (for whatever reason) cannot attend mainstream schools. Many London boroughs have one or more PRUs for that reason, many catering to primary age children. Some lists: [1] [2]
