Considering both his parents live past 95 (and almost 102 for the late Queen Mother) Charles can "enjoy" two decades if he ascends within 2 years from now.

A more intriguing prospect is if the Prince predeceases the Queen.
26th May 2024 - gotta beat the French.

Elizabeth II (95), Prince Charles (73), you wait ages for a Coronation then two come along at once.
How does the change, meaning that females succeed on an equal basis, work so that Beatrice is in but Anne is out? I can see why Charlotte and Lilibet are in because they were born after the change. Was it just the first generation it didn't apply to?

Will the two bank holidays be scrapped if the Queen dies before?
The Grand Dauphin and his son both died before Louis XIV. The king’s great-grandson acceded as Louis XV aged 5 and reigned for 69 years.
Richard Cromwell deserves a mention as the longest-lived British head of state, until Elizabeth II overtook him in 2012.
The 75th should be renamed the Double Diamond jubilee.
HM is, of course, head of state of other countries eg. Aus,Can,NZ so your list of PM's should be much longer!
Fantastic. One thing though - if George is "Prince George of Cambridge", shouldn't Beatrice be "Princess Beatrice of York"? I suppose that may have changed when she married, in which case for consistency she should be "Princess Beatrice, Mrs [whoever she's married to]"
I remember all those Prime Ministers, also King George and the coronation of the present Queen, coronation was good as a day off from school and watched it on television with party afterwards
Fascinating set of facts and figures!
It's nice to finally have something to look forward to, so Long live the Queen!
Princess Beatrice is Mrs Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
She may also be styled Contessa Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, although Italian titles have had no official standing since Italy became a Republic in 1946.
Diamond Geezer. Come for the local transport, stay for the actuarial statistics.

Sincere, non-sarcastic thanks for the entertainment and information, as ever.
You could mark 8 May by playing the national anthem of Liechtenstein.
I'd completely missed the new "platinum geezer" branding on first reading. Subtle. :)

Will you be retaining that into 2022?
That fact that he is Prince Charles doesn't mean he will become King Charles. Monarchs often take a different name when ascending to the throne - a bit like popes.

Given the fate of predecessors called Charles, he might choose something else.

If you're using regnal names for Louis XIV and Johann II, Bhumibol Adulyadej should be Rama IX.
> When the Queen dies...

*If* the Queen dies.
I thought Charles had already announced that he would be known by the regnal name of George if (when) he becomes king.
For completeness, I think she topped the fourth list on 13 October 2016.
We should be allowed to choose our head of state. In a democracy hereditary jobs are indefensible.
Sarah, the change re gender equality means that Charlotte stays ahead of her younger brother Louis, rather than going 5th in line when he was born.

Beatrice was in anyway, as women could succeed under the old rules - see the Queen - the difference is that their younger brothers no longer jump their place in the queue. She (and Eugenie) was ahead of Edward, as their claim came via Andrew. Beatrice's daughter is now ahead of Eugenie, Eugenie's ahead of Edward, Edward's kids ahead of Anne, and so on.

cau1khead, Yes, she was Princess Beatrice of York, she's now Princess Beatrice, Mrs Mozzi.
