You're obviously in your element today.
A sad day. He generously made all his lyrics and music available to download copyright-free some time ago. It's still there, at least for the time being.
(see link in post)
One of the lasting joys of teenage life for me was when my mother bought me a 10 inch LP of Tom Lehrer at a jumble sale. This became by far my favourite LP. She must have grasped my warped sense of humour.

In later life I saw the show Tomfoolery in London and I have never lost the pleasure in listening to his songs.

He was popular worldwide - almost more so out of America than in. There is a recording of a live concert in Copenhagen on YouTube.

Of all things that brought him success in the UK, it was Princess Margaret choosing one of his songs on Desert Island Discs - one rebel choosing the songs of another rebel (all done middle-class style).
Been hearing a few of his songs on an Instagram channel. They're so clever and cutting.
A true genius. RIP
This person does an excellent tribute show to Tom.
Very good, but the "many others" haven't been DISCARVARD (to rhyme with Harvard).
There was a really good obituary in The Register yesterday.

A different story is told about Princess Margaret but I suspect both stories are true.
Thanks for the link I have just downloaded the sheet music for the Elements song, should be fun trying it out
