I have on occasion found myself in Uxbridge with an hour or more to spare.
Thanks to the name of some of the landmarks, and a pre-emptive Google ahead of a jokey comment, I was surprised to find that there was a real Lord Rockingham and it wasn't just created for the 1950s band!
...so that small brown mammal DG saw wasn't a moose loose about this river...
The stretch of canal you walked is the last industrialised part of the Grand Union. Northward from the Swan & Bottle is where it becomes rural in nature, between Denham Country Park and recreational marinas (where gravel was extracted many years ago).
I've come to know Uxbridge quite well thanks to its 6th form college being the choice of further education for all but one of my kids, but didn't know about this trail! Uxbridge does a great job at keeping you corralled within its nicer-than-where-I-live retail centre!

The roughly 8 mile yomp along the canal to Rickmansworth is also a section of the London Loop and quite pleasant too - apart from where it detours off of the tow path to give some poor glimpses of a lake instead.
Oh My Gawd, Rosie!
Even without Jim she is evil and must be destroyed.
Dang. You went almost past the end of my road; when I moved in the main Bell Punch factory was still there with a classic north-facing zigzag roof.

Fassnidge Park was more accessible from the town centre until the area was redeveloped in an unfortunate late-60s style and many residents now don't know it's there.

Original Lahore's "electrical fault" seems more likely to be an attempt to distract the bailiffs; it's been like that for several months with no obvious work going on to fix it.

I'm sure you'd enjoy following more of the Frays, though several stretches have no public access.
"water fountain gifted by the" 'Gifted' - a horrible word that really grates when I read it. All of a sudden, Gifted has been appearing everywhere, in the media, on the internet etc. Used instead of the word Given, Gifted seems to be used everywhere because it's THE word to use.

Although it is a genuine word according to Grammerist - https://grammarist.com/usage/gift/ - (I had to look it up!), it sounds so false and reminds me of so many of the Americanisms that make up the English language today.
If you can't spell 'Grammarist', maybe stop preaching.
