If you follow the digital map link it will, first of all, lead you to a list of stops for the route. All very well for going northbound as the stop names give some clue as to where the bus is going. Reverse the direction and a whole town has disappeared.
i wonder if the reason that TfL are using double deckers for a new route, is because they have so many spare ones from all the cuts they've made elsewhere.
The people who made the poster is part of the 'Men Who Like Buses And Own Very Big Cameras', nothing to with TFL at all sadly. This is their tiddly little Twitter page: https://twitter.com/LDNBusUpdates

At least the bus fanatics are contributing back.

Your list of sightsee8nv options is irresistable
The poster does look superficially official, with fonts which certainly make a not-very-font-sensitive person like me think New Johnston.

But the sellotape and askew fixing looks very unofficial.
My grandparents lived right in the middle of the “featureless suburbia”. On the surface it looked just like the 1930s houses I was familiar with on the other side of London, but we hardly ever tried to shop on our visits.
You taught me a new word today.

triptych.

Thank you
