The quartet of schoolboys with sleeping bags may have been on a DofE expedition... sounds like a good a good day for it.
I agree a lot of the North Downs Way in that area has no views because of the woodland, a much better path is the Greensand Way. I'm amazed though that the view of Box Hill from Denbies is not worth a mention - it is spectacular. Also your end point of Westhumble has a great feature: a 465 bus stop (that has just been saved from closure)!
