I too was at Temple Bar for Open House, and also in the morning (as were you judging by the shadows in your photos). I don't think our paths crossed, however, as the big screen was working when I was there. I remember seeing the derelict Bar in the 1980s, when my parents spent weekends at the adult education courses then run at Theobalds Park - the Bar was in the grounds there.
A very differing quartet! Have added 2 to my list, thanks.
I went to the Ismaili Centre on the first ever Open House weekend. In those day it was mainly architects and architectural students. We were shown round by a professor from Glasgow University. Her speciality was Islamic art. It was a very long time ago.
Thanks for your posts on Open House. I especially enjoyed your write-up of Temple Bar. This year for various reasons I had almost forgotten that it was taking place, but you have inspired me to make a greater effort next year.
I remember climbing on various bits of Temple Bar when it was in the grounds of Theobalds Park. It's nice to see it was rescued from the wilderness and brought back to the city, although there was something rather wonderful about discovering it in the woods.
