This is the comments box for discussing Woodhenge.
All very interesting. But am I the only person who, every time I see the word "Hainault," starts mentally singing McFadden and Whitehead's "Hainault Stoppin' us Now"?
It's worth mentioning that a very pleasant stretch of the London LOOP passes just by too - Woodhenge makes an excellent point to stop and rest for a few minutes on the walk.
Sounds just like my sort of place. Shame it's about as far away from me as is possible to get in London!
Also gutted to learn that we missed it when doing the Loop!
What's this no photo thing though! :(
@Cornish Cockney I managed to miss it too, and looking at Google satellite view it's right next to the LOOP path as it approaches the lake. At least I assume I missed it, as I have no photos (though have plenty of Meerkat photos instead!)

Ah well, a good excuse to walk section 20 again :-)
It looks a good deal more interesting than than its namesake not far from Stonehenge. Despite its name there is no wood in sight as it has long since rotted away to be marked by a series of concrete bollards.
I refuse to visit it until there's been a motorway tunnel built underneath it.
On a marginally-related subject, have you visited Kit's Coty yet DG? [link]

You could use your English Heritage membership although there's no entrance fee. Or even an entrance.
The flyby video with music at "nothing like it" is worth a look/listen.
It's a link to: https://vimeo.com/98932471
Found it and added it to Openstreetmap.
