It's a brave - or image-blind - politician who'll be associated with digging a hole this week, surely?

I should think that Crossrail will be a project that you will feel very close to DG, by the looks of my research it will be passing directly beneath DG Towers before bursting out into the daylight at Pudding Mill Lane, lets hope they dont keep you awake with all the digging.

Nearly underneath DG Towers.
But thankfully not quite.

I hope I'm in the same position!

But Crossrail won't be useful to us North Londoners, will it? At least we still have the tube and plenty of National Rail services, I suppose...

Whenever Boris and Gordon appear in public together I always think of BOGO (Buy one Get one)!!!!

But Crossrail won't be useful to us North Londoners, will it?

One of the more surprising things to come out of the predicted traffic analysis is that Crossrail should provide significant relief to the Northern line. Less surprisingly it should also provide significant relief to the Piccadilly line but how much of this will affect the Cockfosters end of it I do not know.

But anyway, yes it will (indirectly) be useful to you North Londoners.

PofP: What about south west londoners?

Southwest (and northeast) Londoners might one day get Crossrail 2. One very distant day.

@Andrewh - you'll also get the Thameslink Programme (originally known as Thameslink 2000, so you can guess how long it's been in the planning). See www.thameslinkprogramme.co.uk for the juicy details.
