Is that Theresa May with the red balloon? I'm surprised that she has the time for such frivolity!
The deer look like fallow deer, similar to those I see every day in the Phoenix Park in Dublin. They would also seem to be all males, so there must be a female herd nearby, who will be fawning at the moment. At this time of the year they live in single sex groups, only joining together in the autumn for the rut (as it is politely called).
Harold Hill is bandit country and I never run there.
Not sure how far the deer are given to venturing into Harold Hill proper but there are hazard signs for them when coming off the A12 onto the estate.
I seem to remember (40+ years ago) The Bear pub used to keep a live bear, in a cage, in the garden.
I'd certainly never heard about Pyrgo Park and the royal palace there, until you pointed it out. One of several royal palaces of which there are now few traces.

I'd highly recommend the chippy in Harold Wood, the best I've ever used
