This diamond geezer bloke seems interesting. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll go check out his blog.
We went along to the opening event of the Leytonstone Festival, which consisted of a selection of local musicians performing on the steps of St John's Church. My daughter enjoyed dancing with some pals from nursery who we bumped into, and an ice cream, and some home-made walnut cake.

I think I'd have been a bit disappointed if I'd gone out of my way to visit it, but hopefully some of the other things in the programme might pique some people's interest.
I attended a Totally Thames festival walk called "Introduction to the Thames Estuary". It was excellent, as was the weather, but had the misfortune of finishing at Greenwich soon after the massive half marathon event. It was logjammed chaos for miles around.
Diamond Geezer? Never heard of him.
I would certainly take note at the mention of vintage buses and Morris dancers!
I now suspect diamond geezer needn't have bothered.
I'll say the Bart Fair stuff is pretty cool, if you're there when things are on! Good fun today at the circus.
