Wonder how long it takes for Tfl to get night tube on the SSR lines?
The SSR won't (can't?) get Night Tube until the resignalling is complete. 2021/22 is the optimists' estimate.

Parts of the Overground are slated to be the next bit of TfL to get an overnight service, although it's of course dependent on freight pathing - there's a lot of freight crossing London in the small hours.
The list includes prospective events later in October, November, December, January. This is obviously some strange usage of the word "history" that I hadn't previously been aware of ...
Makes Tube Challenging a bit easier!
And the Night DLR (which has no freight issues to worry about at all) is 2021.

As it stands if every single tube line ran all night from today then SE London will continue to be left out as there's no Southeastern or Thameslink services anyway pushing everyone back to buses.
Doesn't make Tube Challenging any easier!
a) Night Tube too infrequent
b) GWR would probably refuse to accept a record set using the night tube
@ Jem - the only part of the Overground that has had any public statement about a night service is the TfL owned section from Dalston Junction to New Cross Gate. I've seen nothing suggesting overnight services on Network Rail tracks. As you say freight is one issue but the other is mandatory engineering access for maintenance and inspection purposes. Network Rail will not be keen to surrender any of this time.

@ Phil - if there is a night Crossrail service it will most likely be Paddington LL - Abbey Wood on TfL controlled tracks. Thus some parts of SE London will see an improvement but I accept it's a small part of a large area of London. There are suggestions that there may also be some element of night service from Paddington HL - Heathrow but it may not be wholly overnight just extra late and early departures.
