I wholeheartedly agree with putting section 5 top of the list of favourite sections. But I’m surprised to see section 17 in second place. Most of section 17 is excellent but the last mile through Enfield is grim. One of my favourites was section 4, from West Wickham to Hamsey Green.
In your ‘Sheesh, the mud’ category, did you mean section 20 rather than section 19? In your report on section 20 you said:

‘the bridleway leading east is often a muddy quagmire. If you've worn anything less than walking boots or wellies, this is the point where your footwear pays the price.’

I don’t remember any particularly muddy parts of section 19.

Section 24 must have been very bleak indeed!

I suppose the mud depends on the time of year it's walked or what the weather has been like just beforehand.
I completed the Loop over 3 years and remember the Northwest sections being considerably muddier than the south London sections regardless!
I think the weather had been kind to us in the Northeast as there was plenty of potential for a quagmire!
How about categories for best and worst signed sections? The Sewardstone hills (section 18) suffer from a particular paucity of arrows.
