V happy to reply to the council consultation about the allotments if you can post a paragraph in these comments with key details such as original intention for the site. Thanks.
Although the missing plaques may be prized by their new owners, they would have been prised out from their sockets.
I wonder if that’s the Kingfisher which has taken residence in Walthamstow Wetlands.
Re lack of Kingfishers. Kingfishers eat small fish and fish fry. Fish need clean water. No fish = no Kingfishers.
Thanks for that very sad but true commentary on the allotments. Hopefully this re-application will attract a similarly large number of objections as the first.
Hi,

Below is a list of our objections. Where to send any comments and the specific planning codes you need to use as part of the subject line or body. They require a postal address from anyone commenting.

The Aecom 'Bridgewater Triangle - Pudding Mill Allotment Light Study' now contained in the plans provides a more accurate detailing of seasonal overshadow to the site - it confirms the fact that areas of the site would suffer significant loss of direct sun.

BRE guidelines are still being applied to the design - BRE guidelines do not consider overshadow in respect of the cultivation of food in an allotment setting.

The plans are at odds with the LLDC local plan (2015-2031) which intend a less crowded townscape and more sympathetic layout in respect light to the allotment site.

The plans contradict the requirements of the LDA Compulsory Purchase Order 2005 (11.'Special Categories of Land, 11.1, 11.2)

The plans contravene the spirit of the permissions given to the Olympic Development Authority (09_90410_FUMODA, Masterplan) to develop the lands.

The plans contravene the London Plan in respect of its approach to protecting Metropolitan Open Land (3D.10, for example).

The Newham Unitary Development Plan (in OS7) seeks to protect green spaces, and in OS13 seeks to protect existing allotments.
Missing plaques - and this is why we can't have nice things! Sigh.
After many months I've seen a kingfisher regularly again in the E20 wetlands storm relief channel. It's a different one to the kingfishers up in Hackney Marshes.

I'm sad about the plaques disappearing too. Wonder if QEOP will replace them.
I worked at an architectural firm where we had people express concern about how a building would impact the neighboring land. The developer sent us to a neighborhood meeting and we listened and made copious notes of all the concerns. We met with the developer (who was friends with the architect) a few days later, he listened as we presented the concerns and a few possible solutions to the issues, he paused a moment in thought and said "fuck em, I paid good money for that land and they didn't, build it exactly as we planned." I hated working there. Glad I found better work.
The blocks on Northwall Road will be to try and stop the endless motorbike racers who've been endless speeding up and down it at night for the last few months.
