Hmmm, I’m sure there’s someone that’ll be nudged into getting these changed within the next couple of weeks now you’ve pointed this out...
I'm no bus expert, but you'd think the drivers would be well placed to spot and report back on things like this..?
Of all the 25/N25 stops in all the world, they missed out bus stop 'M'...
Someone is a fan of your blog and has to have a frequent fix of Bus Stop M News. The saga continues.
"They" will have missed bus stop M on purpose, knowing that it will entice you to break cover. Avoid Zizzi, and check your door handle carefully in coming weeks!
@Sarah

Why would the drivers notice? They know where they are supposed to stop.
We know TfL read DG, so we can only assume that they left Bus Stop M's off on purpose because they knew he'd go and check which ones hadn't been done for them.

They also know he might conceivably inspire people to check a bunch of bus stops for inaccuracy themselves, and thus maybe a bunch of other mistakes might be found. Many MWLBs purposely refuse to disclose TfL errors like this because they like to laugh at TfL; this might be a way of clawing some control back...
DG; much too valuable a resource just to be out checking bus stops. Bus stop M an exception of course, the nation holds a special place in its heart for that one!
Or, it could be that when they came around to do the stop they couldn't for some reason. Maybe they had run out of suitable tiles, or perhaps parking was too difficult. So it got put on the low priority 'to do' list.

Part of me is frustrated - they can't even get this right. But, given the total number of tiles in London and the rate at which they are currently changing, it would be a miracle if none of them were wrong.
Not the drivers' job to check. Demarcation, innit. Proactive? Yogurt, innit?
Are there many van drivers who find it too difficult to park on bus stops?
I should think it boils down to this: TfL have decided people using Bus stop M can manage very well on their own initiative.

If they can't well Bus stop Z is where they'll have an axe to grind.

Since they've done it correctly on Bus stop LR opposite one can only assume its for the grater good.
Oh, 85 out of 98 being correct is pretty good, isn't it. Not perfect of course, but what is.
A 13% failure rate isn't good, especially for passengers standing at a bus stop that's 100% incorrect.
By missing bus stop M they know they are going to get a mention on this blog.
As DG points out a 13% failure is never good.
I really hope you are going to check again in a month or so and let us all know what has or hasn't happenned.
...overheard in TfL offices: "you won't believe what that DG geezer gone and done now"
"that DG geezer"

*twitches*

It's like "PIN number" but more niche.
Glad to see the return of Bus Stop M.

Life is good.
I've never changed bus flag tiles, but I have changed timetables occasionally.

As Pedantic of Purley suggests, sometimes it is difficult to park nearby, and you intend to return later, but fail to do so.

Occasionally the mechanism to open the timetable case has seized up, and would take too much time to deal with there and then. Perhaps tiles suffer from something similar?

@Sarah/David
Drivers don't tend to look at the detail on a bus stop flag, as they are more concerned with trying to stop at the correct point. Once stopped, you can't actually see the flag from the driving seat...
Why is a single '25/24hour' tile wrong? At those particular stops this information is true as both services stop there. Does it matter that the ultimate day and night destinations are different? But then I might have missed the day we did Bus Stop Tile Semantics.
Perhaps the tilers had a night on the tiles?
At Bus Stop M and Bus Stop Z, the bus which turns up after 1am is an N25 not a 25, so the tile's wrong.

Does it matter? Seemingly not.
Of course it matters. If TFL can get the small things wrong, it not so surprising that they can get big things wrong as well.
I trust this will be included in your Bus Stop M (2nd Edition) book. No-one got me a copy at Christmas so I would like to think it will be fully up to date for my birthday in July.
False advertisement.

On a side note, on Stratford Centre Stop K, couldn't route 69 being made to stop there seeing as it passes the stop. Be much more easier to access the town centre if that change was done.
TFL are you listening? When will Bus Stop M be all present and correctly tiled, I wonder.
Excellent work DG both today and throughout 2018, and I shall be forwarding my 2019 subscription to you shortly. oh...wait. HNY.
All is well in the world of 2019. DG puts out two blogs today and Bus Stop M gets the greatest number of comments.

Proper order is assured.
On a related note, I took my first N25 last Saturday night, and was amused to note that the recorded announcements hadn't yet been updated to include "N25" as an option.

Thus after each stop, the announcement that played out actually went:

"[pause]... to... Ilford"

Oops.
TfL could "crowdsource" their auditing of the tile-switchers' work, e.g. send in a photo, monthly draw for a all zones travelcard for the month/credit note for next season ticket or rail voucher
