My powers of observation are out of whack. I was just pondering why the statue, the drinking fountain and the water thingy had all been positioned in such a haphazard manner when it dawned on me they were in separate photos.
Milo, I can't even make out what the last photo is.
This ward this has a good amount of hidden history to make it worth a visit. The importance of fresh water has been pointed out time and again in these ward visits.
Also 17m above sea level is not to be laughed at where I live.
I am delighted you have written the ward is named "after" a high point rather than "for" it which is a weird modern expression.
Am I the only one getting
"502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server."
when clicking on the map link?
Mike Roberts - no.
Sorry, it was working fine yesterday.

You can also explore a map of ward boundaries here.
There is a story that does the rounds about NatWest tower. Probably untrue, but humourous so I will share anyway.

When the tower was being fitted out, there was a competition to name the new employee social club in the tower. The popular suggestion was "The Weary Banker". It was named "The social club" instead.
Milo, at first I thought the same. Why are all those monuments all squashed together like that :-)

Looking at the Simpsons menu is making me feel hungry, my kind of menu
Mikey C - Very much worth a visit. That menu is virtually the same as when I used to dine there in the (19!) 70s.
My main used to be rump steak, sausage and a huge mushroom. I can't recall if I had chips on the side, but it was filling.

Then it was downstairs for Southamptons -- aka large ports!
Another reminder, as if we needed one, that to a keen observer and explorer, the City of London has an enormous amount of interesting stuff.
Great that such places still exist Chris!
