It's East Wick, two words.

http://queenelizabetholympicpark.co.uk/the-park/homes-and-living/east-wick
I thought that until Saturday. But the official QEOP map in the park says Eastwick.

So it's one or the other.
And that gap behind the Holiday Inn at Westfield: that's going to be flats at a mega-density.

And that gap further up Westfield Avenue, before you get to John Lewis: that's going to be big fat commercial buildings.
That student block (13) is truly awful, isn't it. The architect should be angling his/her head in shame.
The whole so called Olympic Park is set to be a disgusting concrete slum. Planners have not learnt their lessons from the 60s and disasters like Broadwater Farm.

I have been a big opposer of all high rise and "East Berlin" type blocks. The polititians and developers put a lovely spin on this crap but money talks I'm afraid!
Upon reading the previous posts, I get the sense that the daily operation costs an awful lot of money.

Money talks, but it also pays for you to enjoy the park for free.
Pity they've stopping making land - even in The Netherlands, so with a growing population in London, and a growing singles population, apartment living (OK, 'flats') is the way to go if we are going to avoid urban sprawl across the south-east. There's no excuse for shoddy design, though.
Any idea where (if it does get built) the snow centre will go?
The plans in 2011 were to replace the media centre, but I can't find where 2013 version would go.

@ Greg

Enjoy the park for free? Really. I my local "park" for "free", even enjoy the local library (still open) and if things get bad can go to the hospital. These things may be indeed "free" but we all know they are paid for in tax. The "money talks" concept is a dated one which it part leads to downturns that most usually effect the poorest the most. Shame money does not talk when it comes to the "Park Champions" working in the QEOP for next to nothing.
Who is going to live in all these flats ?
@Tony: I know someone who's bought in East Village already. So that's one accounted for...
That is a really useful map, DG. I imagine the flats won't look quite as shiny as in the CGI rendering - the Athlete's Village / East Village looks (depending on the weather), at best, like it has been replanted from the Costa Blanca and, at worst, from somewhere east of the Urals.
Let's be optimistic, and hope they employ talented architects to build The International Quarter so it make up for the goddam awful Westfield mess.
Leaving the Olympic Park in 2012, with its specimen quality architecture, walking towards Westfield made me feel sick.
@James, the snow centre is slated for the triangle east of Westfield, bounded by three railways and accessed from Angel Lane, so just off the map and not actually adjacent the Park.
Are there going to be any "houses"?

I like the tall buildings.
Manhattan Loft Gardens.

"Harnessing the creativity and tech spirit of Stratford City, London".
Really? So why not call it something like Stratford City Loft Gardens then?
I've been for a longer walk round, and I have to say I quite like the student flats building, but ONLY the red side of it, with its textured tiles. The insipid beige side is awful. It's like the building's directing its arse in the direction of Zaha Hadid's Aquatic Centre.
Best make sure to go and see it before the view totally disappears then.
I suppose in the long run it does actually make the park much more a local thing than a tourist destination.
It should be noted the flats were sold for around £800m after the games. Now worth £1.5bn. £800m lost from taxpayers by selling it cheap to middle eastern companies.
What's happened to the Olympic Bell? Wasn't it supposed to be installed somewhere in the park? Anyone know?

It's currently in storage, but will have a permanent home on Stadium Island once works on the Stadium are finished in 2016.
