I find these little snippets of local life intresting even if no one else does and I don't even live in London. I think it was a similar post to this that caught my eye when I first came across your blog a few years ago and that kept me coming back for more.

Agreed,

I rather like these posts. Mind you, i'm local-ish.

Thank you DG - kind regards from Devons Road area.

The floating towpath will be particularly welcomed in our household...excellent news!

Won't the fence along the towpath make any towing impossible?

More of this sort of thing!

I like the sound of the floating towpath, having recently ended up cycling along the A11 in a misguided effort to get from the Isle of Dogs to the Greenway. (the bacon and egg baguette at the View Tube made up for it)

I don't venture to your neck of the woods much, but I do find these updates interesting, and they remind me I need to pay a visit soon to see the progress. I'm hoping to do that Aldgate to Stratford walk you did a couple of years back.
The issues noted also have wider resonsance as well. I'm going to write a blog post soon about the High Street 2012 scheme. Some of the work being done is fantastic, and we need much more of that kind of thing across London.

Looking forward to the floating towpath (from a not very local five miles away...)

Wonderful post, brings London to life for me

I agree with all the others, tell that boring person in small gray italics to shush. Although, I suppose I am super-local (E3 4XR, hello!), so it's all relevant to me.

I tried out the CS2 on the weekend and even at 6am on a Saturday I still got the hell off that stupid blue strip ASAFP, because it doesn't do anything to improve cyclist safety.

Instead, I walked my bike all the way to Whitechapel along the ridiculously wide pavement that some brains trust neglected to consider putting said CS2 on.

From the E15 side of the Bow Roundabout, thanks for keeping informed about things I really should know myself! I'll take a good look at 199 Bow Road the next time I pass by, and I hope the works to the roundabout include putting in a few more signals for pedestrians!

199 is 17th century is it?! That's older than I thought! Just imagine what they could do with it...but probably won't!

Amazing how there's so much money to do all this, even though the country is billions in debt. Of course there may be private money too. All a bit unfathomable to me...
