So TFL are not ignoring the problems here. They are doing all they can to rectify them albeit without spending millions.

Well done Boris.
Yes, this will do something to remind cyclists that the blue lane isn't a magic car barrier.

Clearly, cars, busy roundabouts and bikes don't work, because the cars expect to just come off the roundabout without having to check for a cyclist zooming in front of their path (this is probably because busy roundabouts are already difficult for drivers to get to grips with, so checks they would make for, e.g., turning left off a main road onto a side road, aren't being done sometimes -> accident). Roundabouts with traffic lights are more dangerous for cyclists who don't obey the lights, because the cars that are on green believe they have a clear path and that vehicles won't go through a red light into their path.
Is there a reason why they aren't sent over the flyover? - They'd never be turning left or right for the A12 so surely removing the traffic conflict is a no brainer.
The Bow Flyover was OK heading into Bow and pretty easy to merge (proceed in lane and wait for red lights if it's busy) but harder coming into Stratford and I did have one or two near misses. My heart used to sink when I saw that the lights were going to be green when the Stratford bound traffic from the Bow roundabout merged with the traffic coming over the flyover.

I DID turn East along the A12 for a few days before (thanks TFL cycle training) I was shown a better route going straight ahead and then along Campbell Road towards Poplar. And cyclists might want to go to the Tesco just off the A12 heading East. I was always baffled by the sign Cycle Route to Stratford at the Campbell Rd junction with Devon's Road which pointed along Devon's Road towards Devas St and appeared to be pointing towards the A12. Ultimately told an even better route along the River Lea navigation between Stratford and Poplar (thanks Steve!)
I got knocked off my bike, not at Bow, but further back at Forest Gate.

Got away with a few bruises.

Entirely my fault didn't look properly when pulling out.

Good job the car driver wasn't going faster.
oh f-- f---- s---

How much more [public] money is going to get p----- up the wall on these endless flawed >experiments< before they come to a solution that actually comes near to getting things right???
Outcome of the CS2 inquests: blue paint on superhighways lulls cyclists into a false sense of security.

Any normal person's response: Fix the underlying issue, make the route safer and stop killing cyclists

TfL's response: remove the blue paint so it's no longer CS2's fault if someone is killed
They'll be back again, as the new stencil has already started peeling off the road.
