You may wish to add the Arriva 724 to your list of non-TfL buses that enter London. It shuttles daily (and overnight) across the counties between Harlow (Essex) and Heathrow bus station.

With the changes to the 259, anyone wanting to travel beyond the Nags Head (Holloway) to Kings Cross will now have to change buses.
Towards Kings Cross this isn't really an issue as the 259 and 91 serve the same stop.
Heading the other way, however, they currently serve different stops that are around 100m apart, which isn't ideal.

And thanks to a competitive battle between First and Carousel buses at Slough, there are currently two other Uxbridge-y buses: X74 direct to Slough via the main road and on to High Wycombe, and M40 direct to High Wycombe by the motorway. They may not last until you get your Freedom Pass.

It will be sad to lose the historic 279 link to Manor House where the buses have always U-turned across the wide road to turn round for the return journey to Waltham Cross, which might be what TfL are keen to eliminate ?

They've managed to make Engi-Bear look cross-eyed and a bit 'crazy-speedy' in that graphic.
And that hyphen is doing a lot of heavy lifting to separate this one from Engibear, a children's book character by Andrew King. Hope they ran the idea past the IP lawyers first.

Barry S - one change following the consultation was that the 259 runs further south in the one way system, so northbound buses will now serve the stops in Hillmarton Road.
Considering the FoI request about licensed products, TfL having a trademark avoiding football theme on the dangleway is amusing.
Serious point, if it's a TfL employee wearing the costume, would the yellow hi-vi be a legal requirement rather than just an incidental part of the costume?

The 840 exists as a result on TfL's journey planner (eight minute frequency), however non-existent as a timetabled service you can look up.
This highlights one of the journey planner's biggest bugbears. If you do not know the exact name of your arrival (or departure) point in TfL speak then you can get some wayward results.
In this case it is 'Wimbledon Tennis / Marryat Road". However, again this stop also does not appear as a search result in the database.
Fortunately, just putting in Tennis or AELTC, gives you the address as a choice, and offers you departures on the 93 and 493 as well, and perhaps most impressively the 156, with a 1 min bus journey (around the corner to another almost equidistant bus stop also having Wimbledon Station in its name) followed by a 23 minute walk!

Deferred fare rise/consultations. Revenue foregone = service reductions. I think even the poorest users could tolerate a £2 fare with better service, maybe adding multi-modal hopper (bus+tube is capped to tube fare) and a daily bus fare cap of £4 as a quid pro quo.
The cable car promo graphics avoid an official FIFA football and presumably also avoid including certain country flags on the ball shown (some countries get *very* upset if their flag is on a football or otherwise used in ways considered disrepectful, FIFA has been requested more than once to be considerate of this)

Interesting to see that they're using lots of new buses for the Wimbledon service. Presumably they're ones going to be assigned to new routes.

I'm way out of date as I left the area in 2016, but it always used to be a varied collection they used for the Wimbledon services. Many came from Go-Ahead London's private hire fleet, including Routemasters and open top vehicles. They'd be supplemented with buses from elsewhere in the Go-Ahead empire. Was always a very tightly run operation at Wimbledon station, and I assume it still is, with those for the tennis efficiently funnelled off to the waiting fleet.

Sorry to see the truncation of the 19; I grew up at one end of the route and lived for years at the other, so used it regularly. It reminds me both how old I am and how much London has changed in that lifetime. Of course it’s only a bus route, but it seemed like a fixture that had been there forever, and this feels like one of the incremental changes that shift one’s sense of place almost without being apparent — until one day, you realise everything’s changed.

The service permit only mentions double deckers, so presumably if any of the current B1 allocation of single deckers happens to appear on the extended route, First Bus will be in big trouble. Or not?

Looks like the Victoria service will be halved in frequency, currently a 38 every 5 minutes, future 19 every 10. A far cry from pre-covid with the 73 and 38 every 3 mins, and the 507, etc etc. Testament to the diminution of commuting, I suppose, plus TfL's inexorable drive to rid central London of buses and their passengers.

A bit sad the 10 is being reused for a different route rather than a new number issued.
In Wimbledon last week the taxi lobby had someone shouting “we’re cheaper than the bus” as loudly as he could… he did not provide the required caveats on group size, traffic conditions, etc.

Nothing about the Engi-Bear image particularly says AI Slop to me. The flag on the football looks more like dubious quality Photoshop to me.
Either way, it is worth remembering that not every dodgy graphic is down to AI.

Just out of interest, I quickly tried one famous AI tool and asked it to create me a flag covered football and posted it to my BlueSky account.
The result featured far too many pentagons and hexagons, and several of them were miss-shaped. The sizing of the hexagons and pentagons were not consistent. And - for very good measure - one segment was featured a Union Flag and the Spanish flag in the same space.
Now that is AI Slop.

Although there are routes it could take that would serve residents of Thurrock, the B1 (according to bus times) seems to be registered to run non-stop from Laindon to Harold Wood, meaning they (like residents of Brentwood district) won't get a look in. In Essex LA terms, it's direct from Basildon to Havering.

I've spotted an 842 with Surbiton as a destination on Putney Bridge.

Adding to the Oxford Tube comment, ENCTS passes are valid from Oxford as far as Lewknor M40 and vice versa, and also between any pair of stops between Victoria and Hillingdon. The fare for the "gap" is the same/almost as much as that for the whole route.

Not to prolong a perhaps already too tedious debate, but the flag football image from TfL looks significantly different to the stock image that you linked to. Most noticeably, the serrated band on the Qatari flag looks completely wrong, while the left hand third of the Senegalese flag appears blue to me, while it is clearly green on the original.

As to Wimbledon services there is also the 838 to Morden College Park & Ride.
I am really looking forward to the end of Wimbledon fortnight, not only as a Wimbledonian who doesn't care for tennis, but also as a 200 passenger so that we can rid of the collection of ancient diesels and hybrids currently replacing the over-combustible Me's, withdrawn for the second time.

The Electroliners being used on the 839 & 840 are the new batch for the 280. Officially, they are due to start on the 280 on the 19th of July, but thanks to the Metrodeckers being off the road again after the Westbourne Park fire, they may form the allocation for the 200.

Returned to say the silhouette of the London skyline on Engi-Bear's poster appears, apart from the O2, to be an AI hallucination.
I can see an Empire State Building, two Elizabeth Towers, maybe 1 Canada Square without its top pyramid and there's a second 'dome' without support legs just next to the O2. There may possibly be Tower Bridge as it fades to dark on the left.

The 101 Wycombe - Uxbridge was renumbered as short turns of the 102 about 18 months ago, with a 'new' 101 Amersham - Uxbridge route (it was the 105, until they replaced that with the 106/107 Amersham-Slough routes, which still exist, albeit not making it north of Chalfont Common) coming in last September.

The 286 frequency reduction is being offset by the introduction of double decker.
So capacity will increase but with longer waits between buses - not sure which I prefer!
