Priti Patel was more sensible, waiting to see if she could attract enough support before putting herself forward. Seeing that she wasn't she didn't stand rather than go through the humiliation of having to withdraw through lack of support.
Sajid Javid once again demonstrates the point that the first person brave enough to wield a knife doesn't benefit from doing so.
