The saving of Dorich House was a triumph for Kingston University. My husband was a member of the Board, so I was a +1 at a small dinner to mark it's initial refurbishment. It was impressive then, but is clearly even better now. I must go again soon.

The living accommodation areas look nice and probaly enjoy good views of Richmond Park.
Not sure if I would like a house with a flat roof as they tend to be troublesome with leaks. Interesting that from your photos it seems the gas central heating boiler in small building on the roof. |
That's quite fantastic!

I went many years ago and agree with you, its a gem.

This GEM has gone straight to the top of my to visit list.

It is, as you say, a splendid place. Dora Gordine was responsible for the plaque to Sun Yat-sen in Warwick Court near Gray's Inn.

Well for all the times I've been up and down Kingston Vale I can't say I've ever seen it. Even more surprising as I was normally all over anything art deco.
Sometime I am back in West London I must make a detour and see it. |
