Went on Saturday, it wasn't very busy just after it opened at 11.00. Had been attracted by the Victoria line memorabilia, though there wasn't much other than the old cars.

Lots else to see, as DG described, and was sufficiently impressed to make a donation.
I’m sure I read somewhere that an old Victoria line carriage was being used for filming at the pump house a year or so ago. Apparently, the film was of an adult nature!
Wonderful symmetry in the Car 3049 photo (looks even better against the black background of the version under the link).
Salivating, definitely.
Baby Bellings!!
I must pay a visit. I've seen that restored carriage used on TV before (a handy earner I imagine) though not for the "adult" purposes mentioned by Rob above :-)
Somebody ought to volunteer to review the website, as it currently states:

"The new Lea Bridge Road Station (Overground, opening Spring 2016) is 10 mins walk away".
I would have thought the Pumphouse cafe, in which everything is priced 50p from cling-filmed slices of cake to a proper cup of tea (in a real mug) would have caught your eye DG?*

It is the antithesis of the modern hot beverage industry. The nice lady behind the counter explained her pricing strategy as follows: a) it makes the maths easy b) it is family friendly if a whole brood needs a drink and a snack.

*one minor exception, a penguin or a packet of crisps costs 30p, because otherwise that would just be naked profiteering.
Quick update: went there yesterday, 27th Jan 19; couple of things, the fire engine has been used on all kinds of tv drama shows we were told by a very friendly ex fireman. The sewage pump engine was fired up but disappointingly powered an external compressor. Brilliant quirky little place, thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
