re: no 3 - isn't it counting your chickens a bit to be assuming that Her Maj will still be around in 2012 to celebrate her Golden Jubilee?

dg writes: The Jubilee Greenway people have phrased it very carefully... "2012 promises to be an exciting year for Great Britain for another reason. Her Majesty The Queen will, it is hoped, celebrate her Diamond Jubilee"

Well thanks DG, I was going to visit Vestry House on Saturday to reset the automatic watering system...I'm not chancing it now you've increased the likelihood of there being anyone else there!

I'm expecting to be in a local woodland at 4am tomorrow to hear the birds starting to sing.
I'll report back...

They may be uncontagious but are they uninfectious ?

Aren't the prevailing winds from the West?

dg writes: This is true. I've now amended number 1 to provide more consistent advice. Ta.

I think you'll find that Beverley Hills Chihuahua is set in Mexico and therefore NOT SAFE!

Sunday morning-between seven & nine in the morning The Historic Commercial Vehicles Rally leaves Crystal Palace Park. Set the alrm & don't forget your obigatory anorak!

Very clever!
Though I think I shall walk the Jubilee Greenway at 4am, (while listening to the dawn chorus, of course) just to be on the safe side.

Wandsworth Cineworld was even deserted on the opening night of High School Musical 3, so your suggestion is superficially plausible, but further to Gert's point above, the cinema also has a Mexican restaurant right next to it.

@Rob.Stoke - When I read DG's original mention of the wind in the park, I assumed he had studied the weather charts and produced his own forecast for an easterly.
Regular readers of this blog come to expect this kind of dedication.

No 6 "go to the cinema" another unusual show is at the Odeon Leicester Square, on the Bank Holiday Monday. Doors open in morning at 10am. Silent 1923 film "Salome" with live Compton cinema pipe organ accompaniment. One performance only.
Probably not many people will be there at that time.

Of course, you could always just stay in bed...

Really enjoyed the dawn chorus walk. What a lot of the day we miss by not getting up early. Even heard a Cetti's warbler (whatever that is) although our guides could have been fooling us for all I know.
