Derelict London is a fascinating website. I believe Urban75 have sections on the decaying and the dilapidated as well, at least with regards to railways and crumbling old places in Brixton. As for the book, it's currently £6.49 from Amazon. Perhaps I should treat myself... |

There is an artist by the name Geoff Routh who has been painting a derelict building in Stockwell for years (painting onto canvass - not as in painting the Forth Bridge) - just glorious. There used to be some fantastic half collapsed buildings where the Olympic games are being held at Stratford. I miss them terribly - they were my visual daily treat to and from work. (I used to think up some incredible stories thinking about them) |

Bina - I've written quite a lot about those crumbling pre-Olympic buildings. And taken plenty of photographs too. |

I'd noticed that - you've also been to loads of places I'm very familiar with - I'll have to start looking over my shoulder!!!! I think you were too late to capture my favourite old wreck. It had a rusted and collapsed corrogated iron roof with a partially collapsed metal chimney with a hat on. I could never work out how to get a photo of it as the best view of it was from the railway. |
