Farm Road, not Farm Lane.

..and a 'giant reverse letter 'S' ' through my informative years. At each bus stop and paragraph, I dwelt on what might-have-beens... Cheers!
Little interest in buses per se, but enjoyed the nice descriptions of parts of North London that I'm familiar with. If the service is half-hourly, you must spend a significant time over and above the described journey in order to capture those seven splendid pictures at recognisable points on the route.
Looks to me more like a midi bus than a mini bus.
Hillside schoolgirls? You meant Highlands (Highlands is in World's End Lane and the students wear green and black - I'm a Governor)

Your student trio looked proper fierce.

Ha! Our students are brilliant!

Shame there aren't 50 hours in the day for Wednesday's banknote post.

Funny about the lack of proper bus stops given they've already put up real stops for the extension of the 485 in Wandsworth even though it's still months away. Roger reports here
Are many routes operated by London buses like these with a single door? I'm sure I've seen similar buses in London with a centre exit.
My local route (not in London) is operated by this kind of bus with a single door but sadly not as frequently as the 456. It is a similar sociable experience with regular drivers greeting passengers as if they were old friends.

Did you keep hopping off the bus to take the photos?!
Enfield also used to boast having the 123
and the 234 just skirts the borough.
345 is mostly south of the river.
567 was a trolley route.
678 is a school service in Newham.
789 runs from Paddock Wood to Nine Elms.
Cornish Cockney I was about to ask that same question.
A lot of the Green Belt area around Crews Hill is slated for a large housing development in the next ten years, with most of the garden centres and golf courses going. It's not too popular locally.
I wonder why, instead of a new route number, they didn't just extend the W10 southwards. It would have saved putting up new tiles at existing stops and been less confusing to regulars..there are already W6, W8, W9 locally so would have fitted in..
Came for the London content, wound up getting a great Canadian trivia fact. As a transplanted Canadian, I can wow my visitors from Canada next time they are here (probably in 2023 at this rate).
I'm so pleased you did this journey! I'm local to that area and have been intrigued by the 456. I saw it cruise by during lockdown, always empty. Now, if I happen to see it when out walking, it does seem to have a smattering of passengers. Still easy to socially distance, I'd say. Definitely enough room for a Crews Hill plant to get a seat all to itself.
Also, Jurassic Encounter! I had no idea. Always something new to learn and discover on your blog. :-)
Thanks for the reply DG.
The 324 started with single door then changed to double doors after a couple of years. They still haven't put in bus stops in the hail and ride sections on that route
